At the request of the hiring department and with the permission of the Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost for NTE Faculty Members, and the Vice President of University Human Resources for P&S employees, ISU may be able to sponsor some positions described in this section for U.S. permanent residence. Employees in this category may be eligible to self-petition for U.S. permanent residence via an EB-1A application as an “Alien of Extraordinary Ability," or an EB-2 application through the "National Interest Waiver" process, or through a family-based application. These roads to the green card do not require employer sponsorship and are filed by the employee independently of ISU.
