Iowa State University faculty and staff are encouraged to apply for the Culture Corps Grant Program.

Types of projects supported

The Culture Corps Grant Program encourages the development of projects that provide the Iowa State community opportunities to interact with international students and U.S. students who have studied or worked abroad. Activities funded must:

  • Foster an environment in which differences among people are respected and mutual understanding is enhanced,
  • Increase understanding of global and cultural issues, and
  • Promote the creation of culturally informed global citizens.

Students may be hired to serve as discussion leaders, intercultural resources, research assistants, peer advisors, etc. Funding requests may be made for curricular or co-curricular activities.

Who is eligible to work as a Culture Corps student?

  • Full-time, nonimmigrant, undergraduate students holding F or J immigration status who are eligible to work at Iowa State University, and/or
  • Full-time, U.S., undergraduate students with overseas study or work experience.
