What is Dinner in Des Moines?
ISSO hosts Dinner in Des Moines on select Fridays throughout the fall and spring semesters, providing students a chance to experience different restaurants in the Des Moines metro area. Dinner in Des Moines is a chance for students to meet others, try local and international cuisine, and get out of Ames.
In November, we will be going to MinGaLa Burmese Kitchen.
How much does Dinner in Des Moines cost?
ISSO provides transportation (free to students). The only cost to students is the meal and gratuity (or tip). It is customary to tip a minimum of 18% or more with a large group.
I've signed up. Where do I go?
On the day of the event, meet ISSO and other Dinner in Des Moines guests at 4:45 p.m. at the South Entrance to the Memorial Union (off Lincoln Way). Following the event, you will be dropped off at 9:00 p.m. at this location, so make sure to have arrangements for getting home from the Memorial Union.
